To manage a device I've declared an input and an output UDT so that I can use them into a custom Tag Table. Unfortunately I've encountered the issue visible in first image: as you can see, output "User_Data_Length" should start from byte 6, but TIA Portal is forcing it to byte 7. If you configure the DB as non-optimized, you can do odd things like you describe. Personally, I would insert a byte of "reserved" space to put the data on an even numbered offset.
