Hello Ystick no need to calculate it, Step5 will tell you the size in the so called Blocks directory, to get there do the following: 1.) File menu-->Blocks-->Directory 2.) Select "A" for all Blocks in "Blocks List" 3.) You'll get two values, one for the offline program size ("Total blocks", the larger value on the left whichincludes comments) and one for the "pure" logic and data which will go into the PLC ("MC5 blocks" value on the right hand side). Note thatvalue is displayed in WORDS, i.e. double it if you need a BYTE size value. Attached isan example screendump and the above descirption is based on Step5 V7.x. I hope this helps |

Hello again Ystick don't worry about the difference, the ST.S5D filecontains all blocks (code & data) as well asall comments (e.g line comments, headers etc.) which adds to its size. Moreover, Step5 "organises" this ST.S5Dfile and itsfile size is never a reliable indicator. Stick withwhat I advised in item 3 of my previous post which gives you the "offline" (Total Blocks incl. comments) and online (MC5 Blocks) "file size"correctly. |
