If you can uninstall update 6 and install update 5, you may notice it runs better. If you disconnect from your network entirely, does it speed up after a couple minutes? It might be a matter of LAN adapter priority being out of order. By that, I mean, we often have multiple network adapters, WIFI, Ethernet, docking station Ethernet, USB->Ethernet to name a few options. If you routinely use the internet and work networking via wifi and controls via LAN adapter, the priority is wifi for company and internet. That is typically the 2nd adapter in list windows uses to request data from. If you swap the order so wifi is first, windows will be able to access your wifi network right away. If on the other hand you are more like my configuration where you have physical network to the internet and USB->LAN for controls, windows will prioritize correctly, at least until you want to connect to a PLC or HMI or Siemens drive. Then it is confused. If you want to experiment with the option to see if it helps or make it even worse, check this out: How to change the network connection priority in Windows 7
