TIA V15.1 side-by-side error

R7controls Member Joined: 6/3/2015 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Installation package: Simatic_Step7_Professional_WinCC_Professional_v15.1 Installed on Windows Server 2012 When I'm trying to start TIA Portal from desktop an error message appears: "side-by-side configuration is incorrect" Siemens.Automation.SideBySide.manifest file doesn't exist at all. Tried to copy this file from Windows 10 with TIA v15.1 installed and working (same installation package/media). Just got more error messages. Any Ideas?

First I executed "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V15_1\Bin\Siemens.Automation.Manifest.Generator.exe" with option NoDau (command prompt) Now the side-by-side error was gone and signature errors appeared. Then I followed some of an old post's instructions: Tam Le 10/26/2017 6:41 PM 1. Download IE version 11, install it and restart your PC. 2. Open IE browse-Tools > Internet Options >Security>Custom level...>Reset to (Medium) >OK 3. Open IE browse-Tools > Internet Options >Security>Custom level...>Security for this zone (Medium) >OK 4. Open IE browse-Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Import >(Certificate import wizard appear) > Next > Browse...> (Your path) example C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\Bin\CA_STEP7> Open>Next>Place all certificates in the following store > Browse...> Check "Show physic store"> Trusted Root Certification Authorities>Local computer >OK >Next > Finish > The import was successfull > OK 5. You can check it again by browse to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Automation\Portal V13\Bin\Siemens.Automation.Basics.dll Right click mouse > properties > digital signatures>Siemens TIA portal V13>Details> "This digital signature is OK ! " === That's mean OK

Petr Broza Bronze Member Joined: 5/27/2014 Last visit: 10/26/2022 Posts: 109 Rating: (6)	Just to make it more obvious, you have to type it like this in command prompt C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V15_1\Bin\Siemens.Automation.Manifest.Generator.exe (NoDau) I was struggling with NoDau parameter, as I was putting it after dash, but it have to be in brackets.
