TIP: S7-1500 - Easy diagnose of Analogical signals

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 1/14/2025 Posts: 4392 Rating: (1463)	Hi, To get an easy evaluation of a module diagnose, you can select the property “Value status” of S7-1500 module: Device Configuration -> module properties -> module parameters -> xx Configuration) With this, an additional bytes will be added to the address range of the module. Each bit of theses bytes corresponds to the status of the respective channel (first bit = first channel, second bit = second channel, etc.) (Bit = 1 = ok; bit = 0 = fault).

The project has two analogical modules, once in the central rack, the other one in the ET200MP. In the Modules Properties (Device View), I set the diagnose bit function (Module Parameters -> Value status). Optionally, I set all diagnose possibility for the first channel too (Module Parameters -> AI8->Inputs-> Channel0). The analogical values (and the diagnostic bits) could be showed at the Watch Table. An primitive example of use of the diagnostic bit is showed on the OB1. Attachment DIAG_BitDiag.zip (726 Downloads)

I have experimented with these diagnostics and the available documentation has been too spotty to be sure of all the results. [Yes, same as in the other thread]

I saw your example where it is referencing the I32.0 bit from the process image. I found this address located in the "addr to" column in the "overview of addresses" section in the PLC properties. I was trying to use your simple method to detect a channel fault on my 8 channel RTD card. My address I try to reference is I143. I tried reading I143.1 and I143.0. I have wire breaks turned on for both these channels. I tried pulling the wire off channel 0 only and all the bits in I143 turn off....Can you please explain the memory structure of the address more? Thank you! Greg

Because of this, I am trying to figure out how to use the RDREC command to extract diagnostics information off for example an 8 channel RTD card (6ES7 231-5PF32-0XB0), but I can't find anywhere on the internet what the data record number should be or even if I had it what what is the memory structure of what is returned so you can decode it. I realize this is probably off topic from the current thread, BUT if you have any info on that I would be very grateful! Greg
