TTY-TTY cable

I found a wiring diagram for this cable, but there seem to be zenerdiodes in it. Are they realy necessary, and if yes, what specifications do they have? fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 3026 Rating: (1055)	Hello DavidBrown they are 12V Zener Diodes and needed (recommended) if the TTY cable is more than 10m in lenght. Have a look at thefirst entry in What connecting cables are there for connections between the operator panels and the different controllers? which has the details on this (and make sure you get 12V and not1.2 V Zeners, I had a customer scratching his head fora day why his home made cable didn't work because of this). I hope this helps
