unable to establish connection from pc to ktp400

I am a newbie concerning the s7 1200 and hmi, i purchased a starter kit a while ago and i got stuck on the following problem: i wrote a test program (just a simple start stop like the excersise) and configured a screen withe buttons for the ktp400 mono. if i download the project to the devices, the download to the plc goes without a problem, then to the hmi it cannot establish a connection with the device. i searched faq's and topics about this in the siemens and other plc forums, tried a few solutions and still got the same problem... are there special settings to be configured? my network card is configured to obtain ip adress automaticly, all protocolls for siemens are installed. everything is connectedwith cat5 over a network switch (laptop, 1212c, and ktp400) ktp is set to obtain ip automaticly. i already tried to set wit static ip's but this didnt work at all.... i am out of options.... somebody can help me with this?? sincerely, koen

KGP Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	hi sandman yes i tried with or without the switch, with a normal cat5 cable and the siemens profinet cable, all without succes... what i did notice is that after i set a static ip adress and changed back to "obtain ip automaticly" the ktp400 kept the adress i put in as static. whatever i try i always keeps the same ip adress... is there a way to reset factory defaults in the device itself?

Also have a look at this link: how do you integrate an HMI operator panel into a local network? You have to change the "device name" of the panel. Best regards, Wizard

JAEL Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello I have similar problem. I have a ktp400 and S7-1200. I can tranfer program to panel and PLC, but they do not communicate between each other. I´ve set IP´s correctly and boths programs run well. I am using Step7 basic v10.5 SP2. I don´t know if I must use Profinet block in PLC program, which sent data to panel or it is automatical. Thank for help, Jiri.
