Hi Navang,
Yes. Please see the attached pictured.
PAC supports DP V1. For more details see the attached manual. You can read the important vlaues by using Load and Transfer ! If you are using Basic type 2, then PAC send Voltage a-b in first four byte (FLOAT) So you can use L PID 512 T MD 512 Regards Manmeet

Hello Navnag; A reply to a question such as this requires 2 different searches. First, from this manual: SIMATIC Bus links DP/PA coupler, active field distributors, DP/PA Link and Y Link 2.4.3 Which devices can be operated behind the Y Link? Slaves at the lower-level DP master system cannot be operated in DPV1 mode unless they have been integrated and configured with GSD rev. ≥ 5.The GSD must contain the following entries: · Prm_Block_Structure_supp=1 · PrmCmd_supp=1 · Slave_Redundancy_supp=1 STEP 7 checks these entries during configuration. If these entries are not found, the slave is then operated in DPV0 mode. In addition, the gsd files available for the PAC 3200 :GSD files - Expansion module PAC PROFIBUS DP, 7KM9300-0AB00-0AA0 GSD files for PAC3200 DPV1 Expansion module PAC PROFIBUS DP, 7KM9300-0AB00-0AA0 ;============================================================ ; GSD-File for SENTRON Basic PAC PMD; SIEMENS AG; MLFB : 7KM9300 0AB00 0AA0 ; Auto_Baud_supp, 12MBaud; ; Stand : 19.03.10 ; File : SI018163.GSD ;============================================================= #Profibus_DP ; Unit-Definition-List :GSD_Revision=5 ... So I must conclude that the PAC 3200 gsd file does not conform to the requirement of the manual above (the revision oif the gsd is 5, and it should be higher than 5 for DPV1 control behind a Y-Link) so the PAC 3200 cannot be operated as a DPV1 slave beheind the Y-Link. And neither does the gsd of the PAC 4200fulfill the requirements of a Y-Link with DPV1 services. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Dear dchartier Thanks for the detailed reply. This is bad news for me as we than have to use a large no of Y-Links as no of PAC 3200 to be connected is large. Is it possible to connect the PAC 3200 meters to S7-400H / PCS7-H on Profinet using the switched ethernet Profinet module 7KM9300-0AE01-0AA0 ? Thanks Navnag |

Hello Navnag; To my knowledge there are 2 ways to connect to a PAC 3200over Ethernet: Modbus/TCP or Profinet (through software known as ProfiEnergy) This is confirmed by the following FAQ: Ethernet communication SENTRON PAC3200 and PAC4200 to Simatic S7 Modbus/TCP is the simplest Ethernet communication mode with the PAC energy meters:
The other option is Profinet + ProfiEnergy; this is described in the following document: 7KM9300-0AE00-0AA0 - Preconditions to operate the SWTICHED ETHERNET PROFINET MODULS Hope this helps, |

Follow up question published by Navnag is split to a seperate thread with the subject Simultaneous Profibus and Modbus TCP/IP communication with PAC 3200 ? Best regards CS Moderator |
