This is not a complete list of unsupported objects, but it shows that not everything is supported. So yes, the functionality of VCI is limited. Although I do not use VCI because I do not need or use a versioning tool, I know of others who do. The only third-party versioning tool I know of in the automation environment is versiondog from AUVESY, which is now being developed further as octoplant. Kind regards |

Hi Niels, Like you, I've tried the VCI and found it a bit lacking. I'm also eager to hear from someone with a good experience using it. As for third-party tools, I'm aware of Copia if you want something Git-based. I haven't used it myself, but I've seen demos that looked appealing. Perhaps someone else can weigh in with their experience. |
