Ok. But what if I want to get the serial number after the installation from a file? Let's say that I have got 5x iot2050 in a local network and I want them to connect automaticly to a main server. To distinguish them on that server I want to see their ID or something similiar. (identification over ip won't work as they are all in the same network) I also thought of maybe having it write
and using the file content (date+hostname) as an identifier when it connects to the server. To which script file should I add this echo command in order for it to be there after first start? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi, the way being described in the original post is the way to get the serial number after installation. You could add a systemd service which is called on each start, writing the serial number to a file. Same way as you would do it with date+hostname, but in this case the date would of course change. The steps are:
How to create a systemd service (on the example of node-red) can be found in the document of this post in chapter 3.3 or on google. Best regards! |
Not working for IOT2050 support anymore from March 1st, 2024. |
