What is the main difference between Sicam SAS and Sicam eRTU?

Is it possible for engineer with Sicam SAS experience to configure Sicam eRTU, as I suppose it is the same software tool for both hardware version? Only SAS can communicate with Siprotec with Profibus FMS protocol. You can have interlocking between SAS and Siprotec with FMS. SAS has a higher capacity in the number or information and connections (IED, Control Centers)than eRTU. SAS doesn't have Modbus and you are also limited to one IF964 module for profibus DP. You cannothave CP443 Extended for Profibus DP in SAS. For the parameterization point of view, when using CFC in eRTU, it isvery similar toSAS. Using the APIs requires some S7 knowledge, so I recommend buying the CFC license for eRTU. The download procedure is different (easier). Mike J

Also you need license for PlusTools eRTU. As Mike J said it is very similar as SAS. It should not be a problem for engineer with SAS experience. I have done both SAS and eRTU. I can give you finished project if you need. Download procedure is easy. Ensar
