Hello Luigi;
HMI Redundancy for a WinCC station uses different mechanisms if the redundant CPUs are S7-400H systems or a S7-1500R/H redundant ring. One of the links included in Mr. Berghof`'s document includes this important quote: "f you use HMI devices in the PROFINET ring with S7-1500R, those HMI devices must support media redundancy. The H-Sync forwarding function is also recommended. If you use HMI devices in the PROFINET ring with S7-1500H, those HMI devices must support media redundancy." https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109754833/129770622731 I do not believe the CP 1628 is designed for media redundancy, at least I can find no references for this in the Product Support pages. So I would recommend that before you start implementing your design you contact Siemens techs directly, through a support request, and ask them for detailed information on the subject. You will find the link for Product Support at the top of this page. Whatever the answer you receive, we would be interested in what Siemens Techs have to say about this subject. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Luigi; You might find this page from the S7-1500R/H manual reassuring: the easiest way to connect your WinCC PC to a redundant ring is to use a normal NIC in your PC and connect it to a small switch attached to the ring. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/at/en/view/109754833/129770622731 Before you ask: a standard, unmanaged switch will do: https://us.profinet.com/profinet-switch-options-and-features/ Hope this helps, |
