WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Historical Data Trends

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

In this simple sample, two trends are displayed on HMI start screen.

Note: Historical data retain values even after change screen / HMI Power off, but the Trend view object is not updated in real time (it is necessary to change the screen, for example, to show actualized values). Requirements:

WinCC Basic V13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, etc. ).

Configuration main steps:

• Create two tags (Project tree → HMI → HMI Tags → Default tag table → <add new> - in our project two internal tags, HMI_Tag_1 and HMI_Tag_2 as INT data type)

• As simulation proposes, drag & drop the tags to a screen. IO field will be created (with this it would be possible to input different values to the tags).

• Create a Data Log (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Data logs → <add new>)

• Configure the data log:

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = HMI_Tag_1)

  • Create a Logging tag (Project tree → HMI → Historical data → Logging tags (division) → <add new>; Process tag = HMI_Tag_2)

• Place on screen the object “Trend view” (Toolbox → controls)

• Configure the Trend view:

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure: Trend type = Data Log; Source settings = Loggin_tag_1

  • Trend View → Properties → Trend → <Add new>

  • In the created line, configure: Trend type = Data Log; Source settings = Loggin_tag_2
