WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Users – show actual user data

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

This simple sample show how to identify the actual logged user, his password and group, save this information in internal variables and show these values in a screen.

The principle is:

Logon / logoff actions trigger a scheduled task event that get user name, user password and user group number and copy these values to internal variables.

Requirements:

WinCC Basic V13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, etc. See “WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Users – access restriction” - https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/br/en/posts/135188/).

Configuration main steps:

• Create internal tags for user name, user password and user group number (Project tree → HMI → HMI Tags → Show All HMI Tags → <add new> in our simple sample, HMI_User_Name as Wstring, HMI_User_Password as Wstring and HMI_User_Group as Uint).

• Create a scheduled task (Project tree → HMI → Scheduled task → <add new>)

• Configure the created scheduled task properties:

  • Type = Function list

  • Trigger = User Change

• Configure the created scheduled task events adding functions:

  • GetUserName (linked to HMI_User_Name tag to get the user name)

  • GetPassword (linked to HMI_User_Password tag to get the user password)

  • GetGroupNumeber (linked to HMI_User_Group tag to get the user group number)

• Place the internal tags on a screen (drag & drop).
