I am trying to use a TP700 and GMail to send an email using SMTP. I've attached screenshots of the runtime settings I have for the panel and here is a link to GMail's SMTP documentation. I do not receive any messages in the alarm buffer when I attempt to send an email, so I'm a bit lost for other troubleshooting ideas. Any help is appreciated. |

Nice of those guys to help you out, eh? I'm struggling with similar problems trying to use a gmail account on my TP1200. Did you ever get things fixed? |

Hello, the problem reminds me of something.
I guess you know this one already?

The documented example project from Siemens you link to above shows using "smtp.googlemail.com" as the SMTP server. According to google you need to use 465 as you mention above. I have also tried yahoo who allows 587 and GMX which uses 587 niether of them work. Is there something going on here? how do you get this to work?n I can connect to webpages just fine with the web browser on the panel. I do get security prompts whenever a SSL certificate is from a supplier other than the website. could this be causing it?

I registered a domain name with Godaddy and signed up for their free webmail powered by office365. Then, the account info you create... for instance "myemail@mydomain.com" needs to be used exactly for "email address of sender" and "Name of Sender". Login should be the full email address and password the password you set for the account. Enable SSL. the smtp address i used was smtp.office365.com port 587 Then In "internet options" under settings in the panel enable TLS and SSL3. You should now be able to send emails. total cost for me was $3.99 for the web domain and the email was free. |
