Ammar Surti Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello Friends, I am a final year student of BE(electronics), doing my final year project on scada.. I have been given a Fatek PLC "FBs-20MC", and i have WIncc version 6.2 installed on my system.. Soo my question here is i am all new to the Wincc scada part, and i also dont knw if the fatek plc is compatible with Wincc. If it is, thn how am i supposed to communicate WIncc with fatek Plc. ?? Wht OPC server will i have to use ?? and how do i configure the OPC server with Wincc and Fatek.. ?? A detailed reply will really be appreciated.. Thankyou and regards Ammar Surti.

SteBo Platinum Member Joined: 10/3/2010 Last visit: 8/26/2025 Posts: 1568 Rating: (196)	I don't know Fatek PLC but according to online information,they support MODBUS RTU, TCP/IP, UDP & MODBUS TCP communication. WinCC (v7) has a Modbus TCP/IP channel, so communication should be possible.

Darch Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	i think it's possible to communicate WINCC with any PLC, but use OPC server that convert the tags from PLC with WINCC. WINCC work by tags, don't mention this tags came from where

April Posts: 1776 Rating: (95)	Hi, use the WinCC OPC. see the online help Interfaces > OPC - Open connectivity If the fatek PLC have the same OPC spezification than WinCC it works. See at the opc foundation for specification

Gärchla Posts: 457 Rating: (46)	Hello, There is no driver for coupling Fatek to WinCC. The only thing to get data from Fatek is OPC by Ethernet connection. Program licence costs about 200 USd. Ask at Fatek's web site for support. Infos about OPC for WinCC you will find in WinCC Help and by seacrching in siemens automation forum. Best regards Georg
