Wincc compatibility with OMRON

"The" WinCC comes in various packages, associated with different software environments; which one do you plan to use?

The following manual accompanies WinCC v15.1 (TIA Portal) and discusses Host Link connections with an Omron PLC:

If you are using WinCC v7,5, there is no longer an Omron driver available in the software. However, you can always connect to Host Link through the WinCC OPC channel, provided you can have a OPC server for the PLC.

The suggested manual should have some answers for you, if you are designing your HMI project on WinCc v15. Remember that as stated OPC links can help if you cannot use Host Link.

We also would like to know what your Omron project is built on, what model CPU, what communication links are available, what OPC servers you could get your hands on. Also, which version of WinCC are you looking at?
