WinCC OPC UA Channel communication issue with server

shabi Regular Member Joined: 2/14/2011 Last visit: 3/27/2023 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear Team, We have an application to communicate the OPC UA server device (SMP gateway device) with WinCC V7.4 by using OPC UA channel. When we try to connect, In the WinCC OPC UA channel configuration window, Got the message "Discovery of UA servers succeeded" and opc."tcpip://WINCC_Link:4840 has been added". Please refer the attached pic 1. When we try to browse the station, It's became "RED" and doesn't show anything in the configuration page. Connection name = empty. connection url = empty. Please refer the attached pic 2. But in the same PC, I have used the OPC UA expert tool, which can be connected to the OPC UA server gateway without any issues. And the tag database able to browse it. The same way, the WinCC OPC UA channel is connecting with Kep OPC UA server tool and able to browse the tag database. Connection name = Kepserver system name Connection url = Kepserver port no and additionally got the message" Get server Endpoints succeeded". Refer the attached PIC3. This message was missing when I tried to connect the SMP OPC UA server. The PC's lmhost setting has been done. and the firewall setting also has been de-activated. PC is able to ping the server in terms of IP address and the name. The conclusion is: The OPC UA SMP server can be connected to UA expert tool and not with WinCC client. The WinCC UA client can be connected with Kep OPC server tool and not with SMP OPC server. And the SMP OPC UA tech team saying that the WinCC is not giving authentication to connect the SMP server. So check the WinCC setting details. Any suggestion is much appreciated to fix this communication issue. Thanks Attachment PIC1_PIC2_PIC3.pdf (580 Downloads)

In your printscren, you select None for Security settings and "Anonymous". Should you select some other settings here to be able to connect, like a login? Best regards

Check always the rejected folders if there is a Servercertificate that you have to rust manually (also if you use non security!) Bye Murof

It's tested with OPC UA expert tool and communicating well. I have checked the rejected cert folder and didn't find any rejected cert. Below is the path. C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\WinCC\opc\UAClient\PKI\Rejected\certs Now we are focusing to create the certificate in server side, to configure the USERNAME/PASSWORD authentication method. Once it's done, will update the outcome. Thanks

The UA Expert does often a few steps automatically which you have to do manually in other OPC Clients bye Murof

(I think your issue is similar but its often not exat the same situation) Bye Murof
