WinCC project in WinCC explorer - the configured server is not available

Hello Guys,

I have a problem regarding opening of WinCC project in WinCC explorer. When I click on the project file with .mcp extension, then I get the following error.

The configured server is not available.

Do you want to open the project using the local computer as the server?

When I click on Start server locally then the project does not open and there is no error pop-up also.

I don't know what's wrong with it.

Earlier I had stopped the SQL service WinCC and mad a copy of the project folder the same local drive with a different name. After that I had tried to rename my original project but it said that this project is shared and renaming will cause the project to be unshared. So I did not rename my project. After that it stopped opening the project.

Please help!

Split from Project Manager for configured server is not open.

Hi All,

I copied a project over to another pc to work off-line and had same issue. this is what i did:

1. opened a new project on my laptop/separate pc

2. name the project, saved it

3. under wincc explorer, there is a server folder showing the name of the pc

4. copy this folder eg myPC

5. close this newly created project, and open the existing project

6. delete the server folder and paste your new myPC folder

7. restart winCC
