WinCC Server Client app

 I am installing a WinCC Server Client app. I have it setup and tested in house under a workgroup. When I take this to the field, I need to convert it to a Redundant Domain Controller. Is there a document that can step me though the process? I have redundant OS Servers and 17 Clients. I do have Simatic Logon software and an extra license. I was told just need an license somewhere on the network to make it work or should it be on the domain controllers?

The customer is providing the domain controllers and the Microsoft side of the set up. What do I have to do for the Siemens side of the set up once I am on site?

I think you have the following options:

1. Use Simatic Logon and connect to another computer
Disadvantage that you have only one system who manages the user administration

2. Use Simatic Logon and Domain Controllers
Advantage: you can create redundant domain servers
Disadvantage: you must have knowledge in Microsoft Active Domain setup

If the domain is set up and you use SIMATIC Logon you have to create user groups for SIMATIC Logon in de Active Directory.

When you go on site you can switch the computer simply from Work group to domain (Windows configuration, Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System\System properties).

Important is to run the SIMATIC Security Controller (Start > Siemens Automation > Security Controller > repeat settings).

There is a document or FAQ that describes these steps somewhere...
