Hello sumair; First point, you are using a CPU 314-IFM, which is a ratherolder version of CPU, so you will have to check the compatibility of the followingsuggestions before you start purchasing (ask your Siemens rep. before he makes the order form...); second, I have no idea what you mean exactly by a cost-effective solution, or what your budget is. But wou will need some form of Ethernet processor for the CPU (Ethernet wireless is the best way to get a constant, fast and reliable wireless connection between the CPU and the WinCC PC). So: Siemens has a line of products for wireless connection, called Scalance W. In the following link you can locate much information on the various access points, wireless devices and links provided: https://www.automation.siemens.com/mcms/industrial-communication/en/industrial-wireless-communication/network_components/Pages/network-components-iwlan.aspx In the following pages you will be able to locate sample code and documentation for wireless communications from the PLC side, using a CP 343-1 for Industrial Ethernet connection; the PC side should really be no problem, as far as WinCC is concerned, this will simply be an Industrial Ethernet channel working transparently over wireless. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/38015753 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi. The SIMATIC Mobile Panel 277(F) IWLAN enables integration as a WLAN client in wireless LAN networks. This makes it possible to implement a full-fledged mobile HMI device, which can also perform tasks that are not possible with stationary or cabled devices. Probably it will help you. The information about WinCC panels in catalogue ST80: http://www.automation.siemens.com/infocenter/order_form.aspx?lang=en This information from WinCC-Help. Probably it will help you. Best regards. Hello sumair.., I think you need to take a look at chapter 3 in Siemens Industrial Communication catalog. (Not necessarily Siemens but this just gives an idea about what kind of products you need) Moreover you will need toadd an Ethernet interface for your CPU by adding an Ethernet CP. Please look at System interfacing for SIMATIC and SINUMERIK in chapter 2 (Page 260/2) in the same catalog. I hope you study the issue carefully and take care of distance, obstacles and walls in your design. Best regards. H-H |
