rosa Posts: 191 Rating: (58)	Hi all! i´m waiting formy first S7-1200 to test it, and i´m sure i´m going to find a lot of things that will like to add.... i have been reading the posts of this equipment and invite you to make a singlewish list, maybe if we all sign it Siemens could hear us.. as far as i have read, the wish list could start like: > STL > simulation > profinet master > profibus ( master and slave ) > undo option in the software ( pegaia`s wish ) > blue tooth ( Arunakat wish ) > reset layout function ( pegaia`s wish ) > Simulation with one cycle scan per step ( tomy´s wish ) as soon as i receive my S7-1200 i´ll add my own wishes.. Follow my original formatation: Iwould like to open this tread to collect suggestions to the S7-1200 improvement. If you have any suggestions place it here. The idea is mount a product Feed Back list, which hopes to improve it, as we wish. I suggest that treads should be shot and objectives. At developers, I invite you to visit this tread frequently. I know that some themes are “secrets” and could not be “open” so I will understand if there will no answer from you. However you are, naturally, free to write here too. If there is any other official place to send the suggestion, please give us also the path here

With your wishes we can reach S7-300 CPU possibilities. But what about price? I don't think that the price will keep the same levels. More possibilities means higher price. And finaly we will have the new version of S7-300. I think that for the moment they will keep S7-1200 like hardware at this position and probably only will fix (add) some features in software. Like this ones that Pegaia and Fritz already suggested. If we follow the logic S7-1200 should be "weaker" then S7-1300. . Best regards Hristo Mihalev

rosa Posts: 191 Rating: (58)	Hi!! i agree that there are diferent PLC´s for diferent segments, anyway when you are automating a small machine there are some things that could help, or could make the diference... one of the advantages of the S7-200 over other brands is the option of using any of the 3 basic programming languages, i think this is not a matter of price, or power... if siemens is making a new software for the new PLC familythey should consider supporting the most common programming languages... simulation... Logo! has it S7-300 has it almost everyone uses simulation.... ¿¿ does simulation increases the cost off the PLC ?? someone made a freesimulator for S7-200 and it is available on internet... communication.. Ok!! this increases the price of the equipment... i like the idea of communication modules, so i have the optionand pay for the communication i need, but for doing soi needto have an option... For the S7-200 there is a cable that allows to use expansion modules in a differentdin rail... i have useit many times when upgrading a machine or adding newequipment.. ¿¿ does the S7-1200 have this option ??

Hi IBN... i´m afraid you are right... it is faster to usea different equipmentthan to wait for changes....anyway this is a chance to participate in the developing of a product... for years isent emails asking for an optionto leave onthe backlight of a logo!, for some customers i even opened the logo and soldered a cable to leave the backlight on.. i imagine that many people had the same need and one day siemens decided to ad this function... ¿¿ remember when you were a kid and lived on the ilusionthat wishes couldcome true ?? come on.... make your wish ROSA

Siemens has its own thoughts on this product and only what can be useful is buglist, but not wishlist. Siemens will know better what features must be available for such a price. Remember that its entry level product for replacing S7-22x, not S7-300. In compare to S7-22x then new series is much more powerful and this is great I think.
