WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB problem

This is what I'm trying: "Tag_13" := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB("DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.DBno").DX(0,0); ( "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.DBno" is a WORD in an array. and "DB_SelectableAlarms".Index increments in a loop). When I compile it says internal error. What is wrong with this code? What can I do to make this work? Thanks in advance Kind Regards, Jens

That might help you solve this issue or atleast figure out which part of the line is causing the problems. best regards, Remark

Jens_app Gold Member Joined: 1/5/2011 Last visit: 3/9/2023 Posts: 814 Rating: (119)	Well actually I just did, I created something like did: #tempDBno := "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.DBno"; #tempByteNo := "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.Byteno"; #tempBitNo:= "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.Bit.no"; "Tag_13" := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#tempDBno).DX(#tempByteNo,#tempBitNo); still the same error. But when I only do this: "Tag_13" := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#tempDBno).DX(0,0); It works fine. Any idea why the first won't work? GrJens

Remark Bronze Member Joined: 9/1/2006 Last visit: 2/25/2023 Posts: 192 Rating: (12)	Hi Jens, Can you try it with this syntax.... "Tag_13" := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#tempDBno).DX(IDX:=#tempByteNo, BIT:=#tempBitNo); This should be the syntax for a S7-1500, are you using a 1500? best regards, Remark

Remark Bronze Member Joined: 9/1/2006 Last visit: 2/25/2023 Posts: 192 Rating: (12)	Hi Jens, I use V12 SP1 and have tried these different lines: #BoolVal:=%DB1.DX(IDX :=#ByteNr,BIT:=#BitNr); #BoolVal := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#DBnr).DX(0,0); #BoolVal := WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#DBnr).DX(#ByteNr,#BitNr); No problems compiling any of these lines.... May be rebuild the function in new FC ? internal error somewhere ? best regards, Remark

In the meanwhile, could it be possible the problem is here somewhere: #tempDBno := "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.DBno"; #tempByteNo:= "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.Byteno"; #tempBitNo := "DB_SelectableAlarms".Alarms["DB_SelectableAlarms".Index]."Input.Bit.no"; and not in #tag:= WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(#tempDBno).DX(#tempByteNo, #tempBitNo); ?? By the way, for some reasonI'm not able to change this setting (optimized/Standard). Gr Jens Yes, optimized = false. For me, I right click the DB in the project tree, select properties and sift through the available options until I see a checkbox. V11 and before do not allow you to change that checkbox. V12 and up allow you to change the status of the checkbox, compile and download. Much more user friendly option. Sounds like you have it set to the proper setting. I do not use s7-300's so cannot help with this beyond that setting.
