I use S7-1500 PLC with RF180C and RF310R to read and write TAG MOBY E MDS E600. I configured following a sample SIEMENS project and the HARDWARE configuration works. The RESET READER block works. The system DOES NOT detect the presence of the TAG, the "presence" bit is always at level 0. When I activate the read bit, the READ block always responds with the BUSY bit. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Please excuse my English (Google). Thanks for your help. Marco

Now I have solved the problem of read and write of MOBY E MDS E600 but I have a new difficults. I work in to TIA V14 and I hope to read in PLC the STATUS of RF180C and RF310R. I have read all documents avable in this site but more of that spoke about of FB45 and FC45 and I think this information is linked of STEP 7 and not TIA. Whit TIA V14 such as I can read the STATUS of my device ? For example: When the red LED ERR_1 on the RF180C device flashes, how can I know in the PLC, Or when the LEDs on the RF310R device are BLUE and a ResetReader is required, Or again when the LEDs on the RF310R device flash RED, there is a table that corresponds to each number of flashes a different error, but how I can detect them in the PLC. And then if the RF310R goes into error (red LEDs flashing) how can I reset it? The block in TIA "ResetReader" does NOT work or is not sufficient. Sorry for my english I know is very bed. Owei Gold Expert Joined: 10/1/2013 Last visit: 5/11/2023 Posts: 604 Rating: (70)	Every command function block (read, write, etc..) has error and status outputs. So you have to evaluate those outputs. Additionally there's a block called "Reader-Status". Check out it's description here (chapter 10.2.1): https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109766916 That's all the options you have for diagnostics. Usually the err LEDs start to flash only after you submitted a command. So check the outputs of the corresponding block (read, write, etc...). Please don't use FC/FB45 in TIA V14. Those blocks won't make you happy

I have done some tests and it is true when an error is generated the status word identifies the type of error. For example I tried to generate the error with a read command by setting the address and length values to zero and the system goes into error, the status word represents the value: 16#E6FE_0300 and the ERROR bit is high. My problem is how to return from this situation, how can I make a RESET of the system. For information I used the ResetReader block and also the Reset_RF300 block but both didn't work. The only system to revert to initial conditions is to turn off power to the RF180C and then restore power, a maneuver that on an automatic line it's unthinkable. Furthermore, when the system is powered, the RF310R LEDs are BLUE in color and the ERR_# LED on the RF180C flashes. Not having used any commands yet, how can I detect this state? To make the system ready, simply use the ResetReader block or the Reset_RF300 block. Maybe I ask trivial questions but it's my first approach with these systems if you can help me. The Reader_Status block, configured with the following parameters: - Attribute: 16 # 86 (as indicated in the block document, identifies RF300) It detects, with the status word, the RF310R LEDs when they are BLUE, the word status assumes the value 16 # DF80_C200 Even if the same block queries the EXECUTE bit not on the state but on the front. The same block DOES NOT have any information on errors that set the LEDs of the RF210R RED and flashing. Marco

To enable the Reset blocks to reset the err LED you have to activate "Reset error-LED" = "On" at the configuration of the technology object. The Blue LED on the reader and the err LED of the communication module indicates that the reader didn't receive a reset after startup. That's all. Once you start the reset block the reader will switch to green LED and the err LED of the cm will switch off. Ipermix The same block DOES NOT have any information on errors that set the LEDs of the RF210R RED and flashing. Marco That's true. I set the "Reset_LED" in the device configuration. I have two different conditions that I cannot understand well. Case 1) LED on RF310R of BLUE color: Is it possible to read this condition in the PLC? Case 2) Write / Read Error: LED on RF310R flashes RED. How is it reset? I used the ResetReader block and also the Reset_RF300 block but they DON'T work. The LEDs flash RED and the device doesn't read, doesn't write. I need to be able to initialize it. It can be done ? My rule no 1: Always make sure that the reader is reset. What I basically do is to reset the reader after cpu startup and after every error. In this case I don't see the blue LED at all. Case 2) Make sure you chose the right "Reader-parameter" assignment at the TO (see screenshot). Afterwards your reset should work (with block "Reset_Reader").
