Dear Patidar, some of these USB to RS232 Adapters are giving problems to work with S5. Youn can try it witha PCMCIA/Expresscard withRS232 ports instead. I have a USB to S5 cable from HELMHOLZ to work over the laptop withS5, But sometimes it gives me break signal when I want to transfer bigger blocks. Later I got a field PG withbuild in S5 interface andnever used any converters again. . I am sure some ofthe other forum useres can give you somehelp in choosing the right converters for your laptop. Best Regards. |

Connection between PC & PLC - 15 pin male connector connected to PLC at PG port 9 Pin female connector, connected to 9 pin male USB to serial port converter USB port connected to Laptop at COM1 PLC Details - Make - Siemens CPU - Simatic S5-95U PC software - Microsoft Windows Xp, service pack 2, version 2002 Please sugget how to connect PLC to Laptop. This error os mentioned here, but for windows XPSystem message no. 0334" when attempting to go online with STEP 5 V7.2 in Windows XP I had the same problem long time ago in windows XP. I used to open the device manager on my computer and select COM1, then remove it by pressing delete. The PC asks for a restart. After restart the interface works normally. I had to do it each time I want to use it for Step5. After that I re-installed the Windows XP and it's now connectiong without this workaround. In windows7, I tried to install STep5, but it refused to continue the setup, so obviously it is not supported on this opeating system. What you can try is to setup a virtual machine with windows XP and Step5 and try to connect from it.
