DCM Drive GSD File

Dear Experts,

We are using  1.6RA8018-6DV62-0AA0

                       2.6RA8031-6DV62-0AA0

I did not found gsd file for this DCM . Pls sent me the link and sample program file .

This link provides gsd files for different families of drives, including one link for your 6RAZ80XXX   DCM units.

The link will take you to a support document where you can download the gsd and gsdml  files and also firmware downloads for Starter SSP, which you need to use in this type of project, to set the psrameters for your drives.

The only Application Note for DCM drives can be found here, it includes a manual and different applucations that can help you out.

I have installed the GSD file . But i cound not found my drive number. Pls check my image here i have attached .

Here i could not found correct order number . My drive is : 6ra8018-6dv62-0aa0.

Pls help which one i want to slect in my hardware and how to do the configuration.

Have a look at this FAQ, it guides you in selecting the partial part number (6RA8 0xx-xx) with the version of gsdml file you have integrated in your programming software. This can possibly help you out.

You need to think about the selection slightly differently in order to be successful with TIA Portal and external configuration files like GSD / GSDML.

Siemens and other vendors provide a single GSD/GSDML file that will work for many devices.  One file will work with an entire family of devices.

If you find a part # that has everything your drive has except some values are x's, you have found the correct drive family to drag into your portal project.

If we have several drives of the same family, we only need that one file.  Easier for us, and easier for vendors.
