Simatic licenses-Overview

Dear Experts,

Very good morning to all,

I have been worked with the Siemens platform, Had been knowing new things In each of my projects since it seems ocean,

Here I wanted to be clear with category of Licenses, I have used Licenses which comes in SIMATIC Memory stick as transferable, But, recently I heard of Email licenses and Paper Licenses,

I don't know what are those, How it works, How it can be transferred to ALM

If anybody shares the knowing stuff will be better to understand for me, Also, for the peoples who have interest just like me,

there is no functional difference between (using your words) Pendrive license and Email license.

When you order the first one, Siemens sends a box to you containing license on memory stick, license certificate on a piece of paper and the software on a DVD.

When you order the latter one, Siemens sends you a temporary account to login to the web license manager. To use this account open ALM and go to "Web license key download". There it loads a page where you can log in. After logging in you can transfer the license per drag & drop to a local drive and you can download the license certificate and the software (iso or exe).

You see with the second option Siemens has less effort and sells it cheaper.

I had used OSD for downloading .exe files, I wasn't aware that the license can be downloaded or transferable on the same way, Thanks for remembering it well,
