TTL signals both ways to and from S71500T

External encoder connection:

• 6SL3055-0AA00-5Cxx (SMC30) to connect via Sinamics
• 6ES7551-1AB01-0AB0 (TM PosInput 2) to connect directly to S7-1500T
  

Encoder emulation:

• 6SL3055-0AA00-3Pxx (TM41) to connect via Sinamics
  

However I'm not 100% sure if the mentioned Sinamics devices can operate under control of TOs of an S7-1500T.

can we use an S7-1500 module instead of the TM41 ?

Possibly the TM PTO module has this capability. But I've never used so I can't tell for sure.

You can use opto-isolators to conver the 5V TTL level signals to 24V for use with PLC inputs.  However, you will want to make sure your PLC input module is capable of performing whatever tasks you need from an encoder input, like speed or period or whatever is really needed.
