Hi hewking103, There is always the question of how to name the different parts. Referring to the image from "109746530_ImageDownload_Hmi_DOC_en.pdf" you posted, in case of a Unified Panel, you will change the operating system and runtime software when transferring a new image version. However, according to the panel information you can find in the Device Control Center, you will change the firmware/image as well as the runtime. The only part you cannot change is the boot loader. So the question is, what is firmware? Unified Panels are based on the SIMATIC Industrial OS. This operating system is adapted and extended by generic device-specific software such as the Control Center. According to the naming convention used in the panel information in the Control Center, this is firmware. The bootloader is responsible for booting and contains device-specific information such as MAC addresses, device type, serial number, and internal information about the components used, such as the type and manufacturer of the mounted display. Kind regards |
