Hmm, that's strange. Can you post the PDLs that demonstrate the problem here? |

Hello Salma. When I made my original post I was running WinCC 6.0 SP 2. I have now performed the same test on a system running WinCC 6.0 SP 3.SP 3 corrects the scaling problem of customized objects from the Siemens HMI Library. However it introduces a new problem. I customized the objects to add left and right mouse button events. With SP3 theseevents are not getting fired in run-time. That was the whole reason we wanted to customize the objects. With SP 2 the events worked, but scaling did not.Are these objects not intended to be customized in this manner? My other general problem concerning scaling of third party controls and how that might be accomplished remains unresolved with SP 3. For example, consider a simple control such as the WinCC Digital/Analog Clock. If that object is inserted on to the screen and the Analog propery is set to "No" then the clock will only display the Digital time (in the form "2/10/2006 12:29:12 PM"). I have not found a way to scale this item. (To get around this problem we have created a text tag that we have set up to contain the time and we display the text tag on the screen.) Scaling the Digital clock is a similar problem to scaling other third party controls. I have tried putting the control, including the clock, into a small picture window that has Adapt Picture enabled, but that has not made any difference in the scaling. Again, I was thinking if there was a way to determine the actual size of the main display window that I could manually scale these objects. Or perhaps there is some other way? I have attached a sample PDL file that has three items. The Digital clock, one un-customized Siemens cooling tank and a second customized tank. Dan Attachmentscaling.zip (798 Downloads) |

I notice that you have made your customised object from the Siemens HMI symbol, i.e. an ActiveX control. As I mentioned earlier, this can cause the problems. Of course this does not mean that ActiveX controls are bad, just that they can be troublesome if you try to modify their default behaviour. Attachmentscaling.zip (705 Downloads) |
