roscho Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	HELLO WE HAD A KEYBOARD SHORTOUT ON THE CP581 CARD AND NOW WHEN IT BOOTSUP (DRIVER NOT READY RUN BIOS SETUP) WHAT DO I NEED TO DO, TO LOAD BIOS AND WHERE CAN I GET THEM? I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ON WEB FOR DAYS BUT CAN'T FIND ANY INFO. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS

BIOS settings are described in great details in chapters 3.7 and 3.8 of the CP581 manual. roscho Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	The bios may have been lost when keyboard wire was cut, 6es5581-oed14 card which the keyboard is connected to plus HMI (keybroard on HMI has not worked for sometime), we had external keyboard hooked up to it.So now when we bootup plc error comes (drivers not ready run bios setup) i think when wire was cut it cooked the bios. This card is also connected to a 6es5581-4la11 card which is a 486 cpu. do you know which card hold the bios for the key board.I am new to Siemens so i don't know to much about these,so i will ask.AND WILL LEARN THEM. THANKS RUSS

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	The BIOS (Cirrus Logic?)will be on the basic board (6ES5 581-0ED14). The CP581 can be operated with or without the mass storage module (6ES5 581-4LA11).

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Did you login a Siemens support request? That would be a good place to start. If you serach on the Web, there arelots ofS5 spare part suppliers. Probably, replacing the whole card (basic board) would work out cheaper. Good luck!
