Hi everybody I have one doubt with data addressing modbus. Example from user manual: DB_1...............................|............. W#16#A(10) START_1.........................|............. W#16#1(1) END_1............................|............. W#16#8(8) DB10 Address.........|.......Name........|.....Type........| +0.0..............|..Register 1.......|...WORD.......| +2.0..............|..Register 2.......|...WORD.......| +4.0..............|..Register 3.......|...WORD.......| +6.0..............|..Register 4.......|...WORD.......| ... +14.0..............|..Register 8.......|...WORD.......| I don´t know if Register 1 is holding Register 40001 to 40008 or Input Register 30001 to 30008. How can I know it? True, from INPUT_HOLDING meants that is Input Register? and If i need to read Discrete Inputs 10001 to 10008, How I must to set up? With s7 Open Modbus there is DATA_TYPE where 03 is holding register, but here I must set up START_ADDRESS,LENGTH,TI,UNIT,WRITE_READ and INPUT_HOLDING. Thanks advanced |

Thank you!!! That was I didn´t understand, how was possible to read coils
We have CP 343-1 6GK7 343-1CX10-OXE0 Firmware V2.0 and the purpose is to read information from Rosemount 3420 (very old) . This have several devices in fieldbus, 4-20 mA devices. I was looking for information and I found the user manual Open Modbus Communication CP 343-1 and CP 443-1 and I was reading I don´t understant, how was possible read coils. Now with your answer I know that isn´t possible with the user manual that I was reading
Yes, I know that, I saw another post from you where you said that Then my question is with thatModbus/TCP CP (2XV9 450-1MB00) can I read coils? Or what version I need for that.
Thanks you and sorry for my english
