Hello lcedVoVo, this is not always easy and you quickly lose track of things. HW_SubModule stands for part of a hardware module. For example, if you want to ask about the display of the S7-1500, not only the address of the CPU is required, but also the hardware ID for the display, in this example Local~Display. Or if the MC of the CPU is asked for, the HW ID Local~MC is required here. These HW IDs are parameterized with the diagnostic blocks. Here are some FAQs as an example: How do you diagnose in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) whether the display of the S7-1500 CPU has been removed? SIMATIC S7-1500T: How do I use the temperature monitoring of the SIMATIC Drive Controller in the user program? How do you read out the serial numbers of the SIMATIC Memory Card with the user program? With best regards |

Thanks Cicero I have come across a few different methods of finding diagnostics for devices. Presently, I have been following: Diagnostics in User Program with S7-1500 https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/98210758 But, the GET_DIAG also seems to be useful. What is the current recommended method for getting diagnostics - using DeviceStates & ModuleStates or GET_DIAG? |
