A.Filgueras Bronze Member Joined: 12/15/2011 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Hello, I am on a PCS7 project and I have a few SIMOCODE pro C. I'm using the "PCS7 SIMOCODE pro V7.0 + SP3" library, I connected the logical address then I compiled. The blockgenerated all connections itself so I suppose I connected it right. My problem is the simocode have an error “PLC/DCS Monitoring” and I can’t operate. If I disable this monitoring, it works fine. The PLC is ok, it don’t have errors. All simocodes are working in an old project and they have this option enabled. Did I forget something to connect or parameterize? Kind regards

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	hello, have you assigned a "PLC/DCS Monitoring - Input" at SIMOCODE parameterization? If yes, is this TRUE or FALSE? With an S7 PLC it's not necessary to assign this input because S7 DP-Master supports Bus watchdog function. Did you already try to reset the fault state by blue front button? kind regards LesPaul

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	If you assign Bit 0.7 as PLC/DCS Monitoring - Input this bit must be TRUE. Else you will get a PLC/DCS fault. This input is primary for DP-Masters which do not support the PROFIBUS watchdog mechanism. Because SIMATIC S7 supports the PROFIBUS watchdog mechanism it is not necessary to assign any Input. I recommend to parameterize <Not connected> for the PLC/DCS Monitoring - Input. Please try it, does your fault disappear? kind regards LesPaul

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	no, it is not the same - PLC/DCS Monitoring is still active, instead of thix Cyclic Bit 0.7 the PROFIBUS watchdog mechanism is used. This parameter is only necessary if the DP-Master does not support the watchdog function of PROFIBUS protocol. Nevertheless, if you make sure that the cyclic Bit 0.7 is "1" (TRUE) then it should also work with your earlier parameterization. kind regards LesPaul
