Hello you should also post the S7-program and the diagnostic buffer ( PLC -> Diagnostic/Setting -> Module Information). Regards

Thanks for your replying I attach you the S7-program but the diagnostic buffer dosent give me any problems ,because the CPU completely shutdown and restart again ,It gives me the CPU OK AttachmentS7_Program.zip (48 Downloads) |

Hello Eng_Mahmoud I somehow doubt that your problem is caused by - or related to - the conversion of theS5 program to S7 (while a CPU Stop command does exist, a command to "power off" the CPU does not exist). Far more likely explanations for your problem are: 1.) Power dips 2.) Loose connectionfor power supply or faulty power supply 3.) Your sequence reached a step where a certain output was activated. There is a problem with the wiring of the output which caused a short circuit which temporarily took out the power supply. My question for you is: Can you reproduce the problem and if so does it always happen at the same Step in the automatic sequence(which would point to item3 in above list and will help you in narrowingit down). I hope this helps |

Dear fritz thanks for your replying at the moment of shut down of CPU I put the avometer on the 24V points of CPU ,they are still on (not disconnected...!!) this means that CPU restart power from internal command not from SITOP power supply Please advice |

Since Step 7has no command that cancause a "power off/on" type restart, your problem will NOT be the converted logic, but must have other causes. Item 3 of my previous list is the now most like candidate based on your feedback and I take it you can reproduce the problem, correct? If so I suggest you work out in what step of the program (what part of the logic) the "power failure" restart occurs and investigate the wiring of the outputs thatare driven in that step. Let us know what you find out and perhaps others have more ideas. |

Dear fritz thanks for your replying your reply means that OB100 not make any power restart to CPU??? and the restart because of outputs wiring?? --------------------------------------------- another idea If I added OB 80,82,85,86,87,121,122 to program Is that prevent the CPU not to make power restart and make only System fault?? |

OB100 can NEVER be the cause for a PLC restart, it is simply called by the OS when a restart (from power failure or otherwise in an S7 300) occurs.
Adding error OB's to the PLC may help in avoiding CPU stops, you claim however that you are experiencing a power failure related CPU off/on. Either way, finding out what the root causeof your problem is should be your aim, rather than trying to mask it. Can you do us alla favour and answer the following: 1.) Does the CPU automatically restart (which would indicate apower failure related problem) OR does it simply go into STOP mode and you manully restart it afterwards (which could be due to programming errors)? 2.) Have you checked the CPU's diagnostic buffer as advised earlier by sps-concept? 3.)Can you save the CPU's diagnostic buffer and upload it here? 4.)Are you aware that Step7 has aninbuilt help, that F1 will give you context sensitive help for Blocks and the likes, that there are good manuals available and lastly thatyou can search the Forum and Siemens Service & Support web (where there is plenty of Error OB related info to be found). I hope this helps |

EDIT: Above question was moved by Moderator to THIS thread Hello Eng_Mahmoud could you please be so kind andfirstly provide us with feedback to questions 1, 2 & 3 of my previous post (see also appended). This way, we get a better picture of what's going on, are better able to help you and you will also give other users the chance to learnshould they have similar problems in the future and stumble across this thread while searching for answers. I think this is afair deal, what do you think? Questions from previous post: 1.) Does the CPU automatically restart (which would indicate apower failure related problem) OR does it simply go into STOP mode and you manully restart it afterwards (which could be due to programming errors)? 2.) Have you checked the CPU's diagnostic buffer as advised earlier by sps-concept? 3.)Can you save the CPU's diagnostic buffer and upload it here? |

Dear Sir Really Iam too sorry for this 1.) Does the CPU automatically restart (which would indicate apower failure related problem) OR does it simply go into STOP mode and you manully restart it afterwards (which could be due to programming errors)? ------> yes the CPU automatically restart (its completely shutdown ,all leds be off, then it restart automatically again ) at this moment ,I put the Avometer on the points of 24VDC of CPU ,its still on and not disconnected ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.) Have you checked the CPU's diagnostic buffer as advised earlier by sps-concept? -------> yes the diagnostic buffer gives me no errors before and after the power restart occuers --------------------------------------------------------------- 3.)Can you save the CPU's diagnostic buffer and upload it here? Now ,I cant because iam at the office?? |
