S7 300 communication with Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogic via TCP/IP

iuly Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	I have a project with fallow configuration: - 1 simatic S7 station CPU 315 – redundant (whit 2 CPU 315-2DP) - 1 PC HMI Station with Wincc Flexible - 2 small Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogix with TCP/IP. Is necessary to change some message with Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogic via TCP/IP What is your recommendation for my PLC hardware configuration. 1. CP343-1 - 6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0 2 CP343-1 lean. 6GK7343-1CX00-0XE0 Or 3. CP343-1 advanced 6GK7343-1GX21-0XE0 Thank you.

Actually the main question is what you want to do besides the WinCC flexible configuration and the two TCP/IP Connections. If you do not do anything besides it you can use the Lean CP 343-1. If you want to do S7- Connections actively form this CP too, you will have to use the EX 21 Version. IF you want to do HTML or E-Mail Stuff also you will have to use the GX21 Version. iuly Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Thank you. My S7 300 is the master PLC and communicates via MPI wit PC station (with Wincc flexible). I have in this project -2 small Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogix with TCP/IP. Some message (for example : alarm message, level, temperature. Status :On, Off etc) most by see via my S7 station on HMI Wincc application(on PC) and some command (start, stop, some value set etc. ) Communication between my S 7 station and Allen Bradley PLC is TCP/IP. What is your recommendation for my PLC hardware configuration. 1. CP343-1 - 6GK7343-1EX21-0XE0 2 CP343-1 lean. 6GK7343-1CX00-0XE0 Or 3. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Iuly, A S7-300 System with Redundancy, on Hardware side, is actually not possible. The only Redundancy with an S7-300 can be handled on Software basis... but I am not sure if this is sufficient for you. As I am not sure what type of Interface you use on AB I guess you use native TCP according the RFC 973, so you can use all of the CP’s mentioned. If you plan to use Modbus on TCP this is a bit more complicated, in this case you will have to talk to the Distributor of the driver for the Ethernet CP. Best regards J_Bell
