save value from an incremental encoder

myhaye Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	dear experts, I have one project with the following configuration: - CPU 317F-2dp - 5 modules DI32xdc24V - 3 modules DO32xdc24v/0,5A - one ET200S with IM151-1 Standard - 4 drives with servo motors from Unidrive SP(DP-V1) I have 4 servomotors with incremental encoders. My problem is how can I save the last value from incremental encoder, when the power is down? The configuration is working, i read the position i send a new value for position, working, i can control torque. When the power of the drive is shut down i lost the value of the position, if i turn off the PLC the value is not lost. I try to save it the value of the actual position into an DB, but when i shut down the drive this value is replace with 0 value, and send the machine to the actual value (ex. preset value = 1000 mm; actualposition = 1000 mm, after shut down : preset v = 1000 mm, actual position = 0 mm --> send the machine to the new position "0"). If can someone to help me with some ideas or some instructions? Thanks for the cooperation, I apologizeif i posted in the wrong place. Best regards, myhay ene

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 11/14/2024 Posts: 5941 Rating: (816)	Hello, in that case you should use an absolute encoder. If you 100% sure, that the motor would not rotate after Power OFF, you can use DCC. There is a block "SAV_D", which can save the value.

So you can generate your own logic inside the drive. For example control structures like winder technology.
