Simatic Manager error: not found DLL 's7usidlx.dll'

GP68 Experienced Member Joined: 8/11/2006 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hi, duringupgrading Step7 from version 5.4 SP4 to version 5.5, the set-up ending with an error "Impossible to instal Step7 5.5 ....". After that I try to use, and it works! I can open a project, open a function, oper simbolic editor, cross-reference, etc... After a few days, when I was in a plant, I find a problem: I can't open the 'Hardware Diagnostic', 'Operating Mode', 'Set Time of Day'windows. When I try to open one of this function, I gettihs error message "Unable to load DLL 's7usidlx.dll' ...". I try to reinstall the Step7 (repair installation), but nothing change! After that I call the Siemens hot-line, and their solution is remove all Simatic software, clear the registry entry, and install again!!!! On my notebock there are a lot of Simatic software (see attached files), and I'm afraid to do that, because take long time! I try to register manually this file (exist on my pc!!), but is not possible (maybe the problem was into a dependency of this...). If anyone has any indication about it, I would be grateful. Ahti Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello! I had the same problem and needed the quick fix. I scanned dependancies of this dll and foundDPMILIB.DLL missing. I just copied it from other Step7 PC windows\system32\ directory and it works. Bear in mind that it is just fixing the result not the root of the problem. And the root is unknown to me. You should reinstall Step7 and PC if needed. Best regards, Ahti

Mosshill Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Had the same problem after installing a new version of Step 7 v5.5 on my laptop.It also installed with a error right at the end. So I tried with clean install removing all Siemens apps only to get the same error at end of installing Step7. However the Simatic managerworked fine with no problems I could find. Until today I could not update PLC time due tos7usidlx.dll not found error.So have copied overa copy of missing DLL from a pc which had install of step7 with no errors. This has removed the problem. Thanks.

Then I decided to copy the entire S7BIN folder from my colleague´s laptop (same STEP7 version) and replace my S7BIN folder with it. That worked perfectly. Best regards Ondrej
