hello, 1) DC-13 is a utilization category for auxiliary contacts. So the 3RT1016contactor with main contacts don’t have a recommendation for DC-13 load.2) The 3RT1016-1BB41 contactors don’t have any free-wheeling diode, damping diode built in.3) Here is the excerpt from IEC 60947-1section 7.3.3.1 about interference emission of low voltage switching devices: ----- For devices that do not have any electronic circuits (e.g. air-break contactors or vacuum contactors / note from Siemens), electromagnetic interference of devices can only be produced with occasional switching operations. The duration of the interference is measured in ms. The frequency, level and consequences of these interference emissions are regarded as part of the usual electromagnetic environment of low voltage systems. For this reason, the requirements for electromagnetic interference emissions are regarded as fulfilled and no verification is necessary. ----- This means that for contactors, the use of surge suppressors is not compulsary but only necessary if the manufacturer of electronic devices e.g. PLCs, recommends or requires the use of these interference suppression modules. It should be mentioned here that the use of surge suppressors reduces contact erosion in the circuit and therefore the service life of electromechanical control components is increased. Please find the attached technical report. Kind regards LesPaul AttachmentD:\OVERVOLTAGE_SUPPRESSION_OF_CONTACTORS.PDF (268 Downloads) |

Thank you dear LesPaul Generally I want to convert DC-1 or DC-3 rating to DC-13 rating, for example 20A@DC-3 110VDC is equal what rating @ DC-13 110VDC? (I think DC-13 would be 0.2 of DC-3 rating)…? TNX h-sh |
