if you delete the datalogs - possible to clear up space on the SD card?

The logging itself is great and works good but the problem is that when the SD card (24MB) is full and the operator want's to clear the memory. The only way that the PLC recogises that the SD card has free memory is that the datalogs are deleted via webserver. If the operater takes the SD card out of the PLC (CPU is shut down) and places it in a card reader and delete's the datalogs from the card the PLC still shows that the memory is full, when the card is inserted back in to the CPU and powerd up again. So my question is this: if you delete the datalogs like described above even possible to clear up space on the SD card? Best regards. Aleix
