Change modulo on Virtual positioning axis

DavidBrown Gold Member Joined: 6/29/2012 Last visit: 12/25/2023 Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	I should want to change the modulo on a virtual positioning axis (because different procesconditions exist). When I write to "PositioningAxis".Modulo.Length, plc goes to stop with a message in the diagnostic buffer that there is a write protection error. Changing the modulo of an axis is really necessary for me. How can I accomplish this?

After this you have to restart the TO. The Axis must be disabled. DavidBrown Gold Member Joined: 6/29/2012 Last visit: 12/25/2023 Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	The procedure with WRIT_DBL and restart works. I only had PlcSim Advanced to test it. When shutting down plc sim and afterwards restarting it, it seemed the changed modulo was still present. As I cannot test it with a real plc I don't know if it will retain also the changed modulo? In the datablock of the axis TO there is no checkmark at the colum of 'retain'. Apart from this how can I write from plc-program the actual value of the modulo length to the start value?

Is it correct that when I call WRIT_DBL for the first time with request = true,that if I check the busy output immediately in the line underneath the call (in the same plc scan) that the busy output will be true? Or is it possible that it needs one or more extra scans for the busy output to become true? If the busy output becomes true immediately after the call in the same plc scan, I could check for busy output = false, for the function to be executed completely (executed with fault). In the online help there is an example where after the WRITE_DBL a READ_DBL is done when the WRITE_DBL has return value 7002. If the READ_DBL has return value 7002 all call requests are stopped and processes should be finished. I suppose comparing the readout value from READ_DBL is then the check if the writing is done correctly. What procedure should I used to be sure the WRIT_DBL is finished?
