Hello @Nick, I try it, but I can choose different interfaces. The difference with your software version is, that I use Step 7 v5.5 + SP3 Service Pack 3 for STEP 7 V5.5 and STEP 7 Professional 2010 Best regards, Wizard |

Hi Wizard, Thanks for your Reply. SP3 is not working on my (new HP)laptop :-( I discussed and triedsolvingit weeks with Siemens. They could not help me beacause there was a dutch version of Windows 7 installed. Strange problems occur with archiving/retreiving and HW-Catalogus in the HW editor etc. It even lead to a blue screen during istallation and made the computer crash. The PLC SIM always worked fine till today. Thanks in advance! |

Hello @Nick, hmm, is the Windows pre-installed on Laptop? Because there are known problems with HP notebooks and Siemens software. See also this link: What should you watch out for when installing WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 or WinCC V11 SP2 on an HP notebook? Best regards, Wizard |

Hello I just want to inform audience that I have exactly the same problem. My PLCSIM doesn't work with TCP/IP connection selected. I have read the posts https://www.automation.siemens.com/tf/WW/en/Posts/96737 I have deleted xml file for plcsim.tcp.1 also. Now, I cannot choose TCP/IP connection from PLCSIM. Other connections (MPI, Profibus) work OK. Any new ideas? I have Windows 7 Pro, Step 7 v5.5 upd 2, PLCSIM 5.4... |

Hello, Similar question discussed HERE plus the original support request (in German) suggets , delete those 5 files and restrat. Then check the result. If it is not working try to install them again via Options--> Set PG/PC interface-->Interfaces(Add/Remove). If still no success, contact HERE for more help! Best regards, Hamid Hosseini |
