In WinCC Explorer in the TCP/IP channel connection parameter you have configured ip address 192.168.50.20 as plc address. Correct this to 192.168.50.10. Also make sure you have Simatic Net installed.

See the literature below: Wincc Coms. Manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/73568736 Also check out this quick guide: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21917403 There are also many forum topic about similar issues. Note: MPI is very slow, and new CPUs do not even have MPI interface. MPI is an old protocol. I hope I could help a bit. :-) Cheers:

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (1000)	MicroMan ...Note: MPI is very slow, and new CPUs do not even have MPI interface. MPI is an old protocol. You are right, MPI is old and slow (but fast enough for monitoring and service...) BUT: Also every new CPU (300 and 400) has a MPI port! If there is only one RS485 port (CPU 315-2PN/DP i.e.), you can choose in harwdare configuration, if it is a Profibus or a MPI port. By Default, it is MPI!
