The TIA Portal WinCC V13 Update 4 Basic Simulator does not work for me. If I open a new project, add a V13 HMI such as a KTP700 or KTP900, then try to Simulate, the Simulator crashes as soon as it opens.

Any thoughts? Anyone else have this problem?

I'm having the same problem with KTP700 simulation.

I have Tia V13 Update 6, and the simulation is like freezed.

Others panels'simulation are ok.

It is the same for me. I am using a KTP400 and when I try to simulate my screen I can only see the desktop windows through the screen.

Does someone know any solution?.

Maybe because of the Virtual Machine. the matter is that some HMI can be simulated and  others no.

I've got the same problem and I've understand that is some TIA issue related to using a virtual machine and simulate e basic panel 2nd version.

In the same VM simulation of a comfort panel works fine so it's not a memory leak problem.

If you're using virtualbox as vm then you have to enable 3D acceleration under display settings. You've to install/start the vm in shave mode for that once. No need to enable 2D (which seems to slow down, luckily tia is very fast, not so:)

For me I was then able to simulate the 2e gen (what a name) hmi's like tp700/900/1200.

Good to hear comfort panels are working without.

Siemens: What the heck is 3D needed for? Probably the simulation is calling some (silently failing) 3D calls?

Hello,

I experienced the same problems (No screen in RT Simulator) as described in this thread with a KTP900 basic. TIA portal is running in VMware and thanks to the heads up about the "3D graphics" I am now able to simulate the HMI.

In VMware this setting is found under Virtual Machine Settings -> Hardware -> Display -> 3D graphics checkbox "Accelerate 3D graphics".
