Hello Ali; Have a look at the following exchange from the forum: /tf/WW/en/Posts/11682 If your CPU is a 313-2PtP, you can upload the zip file from the first post and use the dedicated blocks to communicate to MM440 drives using USS. If it is not a PtP CPU, then your only serial option is to seup your CP341 for ASCII comms and study the second post; it has a description of the USS strings that you could use to implement basic exchanges with a MM440. Attached you will find a document on USS with a MM420. Procedure is applicable to the MM440, so you can study it for your application. It is a pity you do not use Profibus-DP in this project, comms are easily configured and easy to use, for data exchange and parameter assignment. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier AttachmentUsing USS protocol with MM420.pdf (450 Downloads) |

Hello Ali; I am sorry if I was not clear enough in my first answer Let's try again: 1- "Can it is possible i read or write the data on mm440 using the above hardware" Possible, yes. Easy, no. The easy way, which everybody uses beacause of ease, diagnostics and speed of communication, is Profibus. You will have to develop the USS protocol on the CP341 yourself if you insist on communicating this way. 2-"And also tell me whose Drivers used for this hardware" USS is an ASCII based protocol, so every byte you send is a char variable. Basically, you need to build strings in a DB (for example) for the P_Send (standard FB3 for the CP 341) so that what you send is a valid USS string that will be recognised by your drive. For the standard P_Rcv (FB2) you need to prepare a DB area of the correct size to recieve all the responsestring from the drive, then read out the data that the drive is sending back from inside the USS string. The closest thing I have found on a sample program is from an earl;ier thread: /tf/WW/en/Posts/11682 Look at the post from Saud. Also you should really search on the available links from Siemens Product Support, at the top of this page. Do a search on USS, CP 341, Micromaster 440, and mixtures of all of these. You might find more information for your project. I hope this helps you. Daniel Chartier |
