User Archives VS Tag logging

(0) Good morning, there is someone that could, please, say me what are the differences between User Archives and Tag Logging. I need to prepare a list of fixed ingredients, that compose a series of fixed objets, but you can choose the quantity. These objets can be chosen and added in three main groups, that send the order of objects to production. This is the point: I tried with user archives but I don't understand how to pass (and get the name there are @UA..._field, but not one fore the entire archive) the Tag of the objects (with inside the ingredients with quantity), to the groups for the production. But with Taglogging maybe I can use I/O fields and made the association with groups... Hope someone could help, kindly regards.

Do you have to save your "list of fixed ingredients" and use it again next time (with the same quantities)? If so, then you are dealing with recipe handling and option UserArchive is a proper tool for you. This option provides a complete support for recipe handling allready in basic use, you only have to configure your archive (in Wincc Explorer) and then add a User archive table in your pdl. This table provides you with all of the needed functionality for work with recipes. See, what WinCC help system says about that. (0) Thanks for help! With recipe handling you mean the relations between the archives in the views? If so I'm in the right direction, but I've got just the last little problem. I set the relations: Ingredient_1 = charge_ingred_1, but in runtime I can't see this relations work... The first window where I set the value of ingredient_1, it works, when I pass to the relationed table nothing appear.. Thanks in advance, kindly ragards

(0) Rate Thank Hey, chiara! I will go through my projects with user archives and try to post a little more detailed help today in the afternoon or maybe through weekend. I have another suggestion! I think, you should move your post directly in "Simatic WinCC" conference and you might get a lot of answers from experts for WinCC! I think, that colleagues (and me also!) allways go directly to subconferences of their interest and rarely look for threads in "common" Simatic HMI Human Machine Interface conference....... have fun (and a nice weekend!) uel123

Hey, chiara!

I must say, that I have never worked with those variables in order to manipulate data records in user archive. Up to now, I managed to do it with common C scripting, with functions, that are available in C script libraries (Standard functions -> User arc). In attacment, I am sending you a example Cscript code, how to add a new record

I also have made a case, where a data record is found in archive and sent to machine. That is all the help, tha I can provide you at the moment.
