SCALE FC105

Denker Posts: 90 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have an issue about SCALE function block (FC105) and please, I need help. I readin online helpabout the input range between -27648and 27648 used in FC105. If I use one SM331 (AI module) with 16 bits (15 bits + sign), I have a range to use between -32511 and 32511in some cases(near2^15). So, willI lose resolution using FC105 block ??Should I only usethis block for 14 bits resolution? And, what the reason of the value 27648 ? Greetings.

Jazz_M Posts: 1121 Rating: (86)	Hi Denker any one can correct me if i am wrong We use thermocouples for the scaling purpose we multiply the incomming raw value with a factor say for t/c we have a count as 0 - 12000 then we mul it with 2.304 for conversion to 0 - 27648 so you can also mul with a factor say 0.85041 i got this by 27648/32511 = 0.85041 mul this with your raw value you can get the value between 0 - 27648 counts and rest is piece of cake.
