While it usedfro some communicationsbetween the CPU and CP's, the user data that you read from the CP is actually transfered via the the fast I/O related P-Bus (you'll notice that any CP in an S7-300 occupies 16 bytes of I/O space which is used for this purpose). I hope this helps
