TIA Portal V13 No Valid License Key Found

jc2605 Advanced Member Joined: 2/7/2012 Last visit: 8/22/2024 Posts: 52 Rating: (7)	I am installing TIA Portal V13 Professional on some customer laptops running Windows 7 Professional, x64, 8G RAM. The laptops are brand new. During the Step 7 Professional install on the 3rd laptop, the laptop crashed. When trying to reboot, it would not restart with the error "No Bootable Device Detected". I eventually got the laptop to boot up and reinstalled Step 7 Pro. The key is showing in ALM and checks good. I created a test project and when I go to insert a plc, I get the error "No Valid License Key Found. The application will be closed". I ran search on the forums for TIA Portal V13 No Valid License Key Found. An old topic from Step 7 V5.4 came up and a couple for V11 upgrades but nothing for V13. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1195)	Sorry to hear about your troubles. In the Automation License Manager software, go to LICENSE KEY function menu. You will find RECOVER and RECOVER WIZARD. I suggest you give the HELP file of the software a read on what to do with these functions. Looking under "recovery" you find such descriptions as.. Recover License Key Dialog The License Key > Recover menu command calls the dialog for recovering license keys. Procedure: Select the license key to be recovered and select the License Key > Recover menu command. Connect to "Support for License Management" and provide the data indicated in the dialog box: The product The license key The license number and The request code Enter the supplied activation code and click "OK". Result: The corrupt license key is restored and is now available.

I recently had a similar problem with a PC crash and license there but useless. Contacted Siemens and they walked me through the entire process until it worked. My hand stayed very warm as they held it for me

I pulled the license off of my pc and tried it on the laptop, no luck. I ended up completely removing TIA from the laptop and reinstalling and now it works correctly. Thanks for the help guys.
