Motor does not start up with MM440: R0501 Error

tcangar Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	I am using a Micromaster 440 drive 6SE6440-2UD24-0BA1 ( rating: 4 kW ) to run a motor company EMWB Typ: F100 L-2, which is an asynchronous motor 3-Phase 380 VAC, 50 Hz, 6A, power: 3 kW, speed: 3000 rpm, connected in Star formation. My aim is simply to control the speed, actually to be able to use 2 different speeds, such as 3000 rpm and 1500 rpm. information about the motor can be found here: http://www.emwb.ch/Media/struktur/bedienungsanleitungen/bedienung_normmotoren.pdf I have configurated the Micromaster as described in Quick-Setup using the Basic Operator Panel BOP. No cable and connection problems, motor is working fine with a simple contactor. When I give the Start command, the MM440 Speeds up to 20 Hz, then the operator panel starts blinking with R0501 Current Limit error and does not go up. Tried different things, but cannot succeed, any help would be appreciated.

A0501 Current Limit Cause: - Motor power does not correspond to the inverter power - The motor cables are too long - Ground faults Diagnostics and elimination: Check the following: - That the motor power (P0307) must match that of the inverter (P0206) - That they have not exceeded the limits of cable length - That the motor cable and motor must have no short circuits or earth faults - Motor parameters must match the motor used - The value of the stator resistance (P0350) must be correct - Motor must not be obstructed or overloaded - Increase the acceleration time - Reduce the boost level

tcangar Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Interesting enough, the Operator Panel blinks with R0501, that should be actually A0501, I cannot imagine the reason why, let's take it as A0501. I read the error and done the parametrisation again. I also read the posts, i.e. /tf/WW/en/Posts/40749 I assume I didn't play much with P0640 Motor overload factor, it was 150 by default. Maybe it's the problem. The driver does this, and it happens around 20 Hz, goes up, goes slightly down, up and down, and stays around 20 Hz. That is less then the motor to start up, It has load to overcome by start up. Or there must be a parameter to overcome this.

Manishkools Posts: 50 Rating: (1)	as your motor is running ok with single contactor it may be assumed the motor / load has no problem looks like the motor is not getting sufficient torque and so the drive is going into current limit around 20 Hz frequency. you can try changing P1300 =3 and setting P 1320 onwards parameters in such to keep the v/f high at lower frequencies Manish

With heavy load, V/F cannot provide sufficient torque and you must switch to vector control - either with sensor or sensorless Now - it may be difficult for you to decouple motor but i will suggest you to decouple if possible because for better performance of vector control, you need auto tunning of motor and this can run the motor so its always best in No Load condition Regards, Devesh Vithani

I made the Quick-Setup once more, it's working now fine, maybe I made an error in the internal motor parameters or the Quick Setup procedure was not closed properly. [schnippschnapp] New question was splitted to is it possible to set the parameter P0640 to 50%?
